iOS 27 begins rolling out, bringing Siri AI, faster system performance and a long list of Apple Intelligence upgrades. But two features that appeared during the beta cycle will not be part of the initial public release.
For iPhone users in India and Pakistan, this matters because both features were pitched as practical everyday improvements rather than small visual changes. One would help Messages understand conversation context, while the other would let the Passwords app fix weak or compromised passwords with much less manual work.
Which iOS 27 features are delayed?
The two delayed features are contextual Suggestions in Messages and automatic password changes inside the Passwords app.
Apple’s current iOS 27 page still describes Suggestions as a feature that can surface quick actions from a conversation, such as adding something to Reminders or Notes. However, MacRumors and 9to5Mac report that the Messages version of Suggestions was removed from the initial iOS 27 release and will return in a later software update.
The Passwords feature is more explicit on Apple’s own website. Apple says the Passwords app can identify weak or compromised passwords and update them on a user’s behalf, but the company now labels the feature as “Coming in a future software update.”
Why the password feature is important
Changing a compromised password is usually a multi-step process. Users often need to open a website, find account settings, create a new password and save it back to their password manager.
Apple designed the new Passwords feature to reduce that friction. According to Apple’s description and specialist coverage, the feature uses Safari and Apple Intelligence to help complete more of that process automatically.
That could make security alerts more useful because users would have a faster path from seeing a warning to actually fixing the affected account. For now, iOS 27 users will still need to change many compromised passwords manually.
What Messages Suggestions was supposed to do
Suggestions in Messages is designed to understand useful context inside a conversation. If someone asks you to remember something, share a photo or create an event, Apple Intelligence can surface a relevant action instead of making you switch apps and complete the task yourself.
Apple’s iOS 27 page shows examples such as adding information to Reminders or Notes. The feature is part of Apple’s broader attempt to make Apple Intelligence useful inside existing apps rather than only through the new Siri AI interface.
When could these features arrive?
Apple has not announced a firm release date for either delayed feature. The company only says the password capability is coming in a future software update, while specialist reports say the Messages feature is also expected later in the iOS 27 cycle.
One possible target is iOS 27.1, but that is not confirmed. Apple is expected to have iOS 27.1 ready around the iPhone Duo launch period in October, so users should treat that as a possibility rather than a promised date.
Should you still install iOS 27?
These delays do not remove the biggest reasons to consider iOS 27. Apple is still rolling out Siri AI in English, new Apple Intelligence tools, performance improvements, Liquid Glass refinements and updates across core apps.
If the missing Messages or Passwords features were the main reason you wanted to update, however, it is worth knowing they are not available on day one.
The important takeaway is simple: iOS 27 is launching today, but Apple’s software rollout is still continuing after version 27.0. Users should expect some of the more ambitious Apple Intelligence features to arrive in follow-up updates rather than all at once.
