Only 1 reason why I am not interested in buying iPhone 16e
iPhone 16e is Apple’s most affordable and powerful iPhone at price of ₹ 59,900 as advertised on Apple.com website, but I am not interested in buying. There are a dozen reasons not to buy iPhone 16e, but I will point only 1 reason and that is quite enough this so-called affordable phone from Apple is not value for money!
Apple launched iPhone 16e and advertised it as most affordable and powerful new member of the iPhone 16 family. This phone is for those who can’t afford expensive iPhone like iPhone 16, Pro, and Pro Max or previous generation iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. This new cheaper variant of iPhone (the 16e) targets those users, who looking for less expensive iPhone option in market with latest specs and features like iOS 18, A18 chip, Type-C connectivity, and built-in Apple Intelligence.
I’m not buying iPhone 16e, because the display design is outdated. Even if I compromise on other features like singe camera setup of 48 MP at rear and absence of Magsafe wireless charging, the display of 16e bitters my taste. This phone offers notch display design which looks too old or odd.
Apple started offering the notch design from the iPhone X and it continued till the iPhone 14 and 14 Plus (14 Pro and Pro Max launched with Dynamic Island). After that, Apple introduced the Dynamic Island in all iPhone 15 models and iPhone 16 models, making its look and feel even better and is loved by millions of users around the world. But in iPhone 16e, this Dynamic Island again replaced with Notch display and seriously its looks old and outdated. It will be like you are holding an old iPhone 13 or iPhone 14 in your hand and at price of ₹ 59,900, it is not acceptable and it is not affordable.
In short, Even if you buy the new iPhone 16e, it will look old and feel cheap! Meaning Apple people have decided that “give anything to the devotees, just there should be Apple logo stuck on the back!” In this price segment, awesome Android flagship phones can be purchased, but no, Apple will say – ‘We are premium!’ Actually this phone is not “iPhone, but iLoot 16e or a distraction”! and this is my main reason I am not interested in buying .
Instead iPhone 16e, a number of options available in the market. Even one you will get on Apple store – I recommend iPhone 15 which is priced under Rs 60,000 and offers better features like Top-class display, Dynamic Island, Dual Rear Camera, Magsafe wireless charging, Stable Video Recording and a lot more! Apart from that, if you think this notch design okay then iPhone 14 would be best as it costs around Rs 54,999 only.
